What we do...

Sea the Change first launched in March 2018; our initial beach school sessions were a huge success, but the feedback from parents was they wanted more! More information on how they could help teach their children about the world around them, but also how they could live in a more sustainable and inclusive world...and so our journey began to the SEA....

Sustainability, Education, Accessibility

Living more sustainably was a journey we wanted to share with others - and so our workshops began -  people from all over the Borderlands come together to learn how they can ditch the clingfilm with their very own beeswax wrap, or make their own dishwasher powder..

'We don't need a handful of people

doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly'

We want our children to be the change

-  helping them to enjoy and appreciate the world we live in, whilst finding practical ways to live more sustainably was very important us.

We run Beach School Sessions, our John Muir Schools Programme, and we subsequently now support High School students as they volunteer through their Duke of Edinburgh Award.

'Children are our future, and they get it.

It's our duty to teach them how to take care of it'

Sea the Change is delighted to have launched our new

beach wheelchair service at Coldingham Bay.

These wheelchairs enable everyone, regardless of age or physical ability, the opportunity to enjoy the beach

'We LOVE the beach, but one thing we became very aware of as we spent so much time there, was that this wonderful experience wasn't the same for everyone'

Who we are...

Established in 2018 by two friends, Juliana and Alice; we built our friendship on the love of the area we live and our shared passion for the sea. Never before were we so aware of our impact on the environment and our overwhelming desire to fight for change - the need for Sea the Change was not only reasonable, but urgent.

' Encouraging us all to make some small, achievable changes

that can have a positive, long lasting impact on the environment just had to happen - the climate clock is ticking'

People power makes change happen - and we are so very lucky to have an amazing board of trustees and a whole team of wonderful volunteers. Together we work to create our vision of happier, healthier, more sustainable communities.

We are recruiting new Trustees for our Board

Join us and be the change.......
